This year’s National Genealogical Society (NGS) 2024 Virtual Family History Conference is offering an amazing package of fifty lectures by experts in the field of family history that you can attend for as low as $5 per lecture.

The program, Expanding Possibilities, is live online 17-18 May. Plus, all fifty lectures are available as video recordings through 15 August at no additional charge.

NGS Individual Members: Conference registration is $250 with your member discount, a fantastic value of $5 per lecture.

Conference Program

The 2024 program covers a wide range of topics for all levels of expertise.

  • Latest Technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI): Steve Little, NGS’s AI Program Director, starts a discussion of AI’s power in genealogy with Friday’s plenary session. During Saturday’s plenary, Blaine Bettinger and a panel of experts address issues and concerns associated with using AI in genealogy. Other lectures focus on practical tools and methods to apply to your research, AI’s use in land records analysis, its effectiveness searching through and transcribing hand-written manuscripts, and AI innovations at FamilySearch.
  • Ethnic Lectures: Learn about Asian, European, Mexican, and Native American research.
  • Collaborative- Lectures: Attend the James Dent Walker Memorial Lecture Series in partnership with the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society.
  • The Basics: Get essential information in lectures on DNA, methodology, records research, and more.
  • Unique and Fun Lectures: Enjoy sessions such as Rapid Roots during which seven genealogists share their best tips in a rapid-fire presentation format.
