Jan Cleere has been writing about the people of the desert southwest for over twenty years. She lectures around the state on early pioneers who were instrumental in colonizing and civilizing Arizona Territory and is the author of five award-winning historical nonfiction books with her sixth book due for release in March 2021. Jan also writes a monthly column for Tucson’s Arizona Daily Star newspaper, “Western Women,” recounting the lives of some of Arizona’s early amazing women. Her freelance work appears in national and regional publications.
