Speaker: Marilyn Simleness
Marilyn, originally a native of California, holds a BA in mathematics, with a minor in English, from Sonoma State University. She also holds three Life Credentials for teaching in California. She retired from public education in 2013 after 37 years in the classroom, grades K-12.
She has been interested in family history since her youth. In 2014 she began in-depth training in genealogical research practices, graduating from such programs as Boston University, ProGen, Gen-Fed, and five certificate programs with National Institute of Genealogical Studies. She has also attended many local, regional, and national conferences and institutes. She began a part-time genealogy business, Tapestries, in June 2016.
Marilyn and her husband moved to Surprise, AZ, in January 2020. She currently serves as Director of Education for the West Valley Genealogical Society.
This will be a hybrid meeting. You will have to register only if you are attending via Zoom.
The virtual doors open at 12:45 pm so everyone can get setup.
The business meeting starts at 1:00 pm and the guest speaker approximately 1:30 pm, after a 5 minute break.
